Disarmament and International Security Committee as General Assembly’s First Committee was established in order to deal with issues concerning disarmament, global challenges and threats to global peace that influences the international community and questions the solutions for lowering the challenges in the international security regime. Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) now has 193 member states in which they meet every year in October for a 4-to-5 week session. DISEC cooperates closely with United Nations Disarmament Commission and the Geneva-based Conference on Disarmament. Cooperations are linked with enlarging international peace and security.
